Great fight, but how do you see it going if both fighters bring their A-Game.

I got Mijares by Decision. Montiel is a great fighter but his average defence can and will be exploited by a master counterpuncher like Mijares. Cristian's jab will be in his face all night and his southpaw stance will trouble Montiel similiar to the Gorres fight. Mijares's advantage in speed, timing, defence and workrate should allow him to control the outside and land pinpoint combos.

Mijares's biggest weakness is fighting in the pocket when he doesn't need to along with his inside defence (Although it is good, he is very hittable on the inside). I think Cristian will be dragged into trading with Montiel in the pocket at times, where Fernando's explosive combos and power should cause damage and win him some rounds.

As the fight goes on I think Mijares's sharp counter's will beign to build up and cause swelling around the face of Montiel (Like what hapens to most of his opponents). This along with his great stamina will alow Cristian to take control of the last few rounds and hit Montiel with some good shots, winning the later parts of the fight.

    Mijares UD 117-111

I don't think anyone can beat Mijares currently at 115, he's a monster.

I really haven't seen much of these two.. I am beginning to take a liking to Mijares though.. I would say Mijares by decision, but I still need to see more from both of them, especially to see how Mijares does against Munoz..

    Mijares UD

Outjabs Montiel, exploits his defensive susceptibilities, and wins a majority of the rounds.

Maybe we'll get Mijares' official leap into 'signature performances' with this one and he'll stay to his gameplan 100% and not fight in the pocket at all, not get dragged into machismo slugging and just give us one of the best supernatural beatdowns this side of a Lacying.

    Mijares 118-110, poetry in motion!:bbb

It hasn't been signed or discussed yet, but it is a potential superfight for the lower weightclasses if they both win there upcoming bouts. If it does get made it'll probably be near the end of the year

Mijares UD. Something along the lines of 117-111.

Id love to see this fight.
Montiel is one of my favourite fighters at the lower weights. But I dont like his chances, hard style for him to deal with (anyone for that matter).
If he can the judge who scored it for Navarro in the Mijaries fight, that would certainly help.
