How does this one play out?

I wanna say a late Tko for Montiel.

I feel although their power is about the same, I think Montiel is a better when it comes to boxing technique.

    Thoughts?

At this stage both are past their prime but I feel Montiel has more left in the tank. On the other hand, and call it a completely useless statistic, Darchinyan dominated every Mexican fighter he has ever faced regardless of styles (while struggled with Filipinos). Montiel is not your average Mexican warrior/boxer-puncher, but neither was Mijares, but Vic pulled a rabbit regardless. Still, take a look at the left hook Montiel landed on Hasegawa and remember the shot the KO'd Vic and you gotta favor Montiel here.

No. Montiel is better in every way than is Vic. I've been calling for this
since montiel was still at 115. This is really a no-win for vic as nando
is bigger, rangier, more experienced, more skilled, and matches vic in
    strength and power.
Montiel by overpowering tko in less than 6. Montiel would also beat donaire. He is the cheif guy at 118, and is a top 10 p4p'er.

Darchinyan seems to be on a very steep slide. While Montiel was getting outboxed comfortably by Hasegawa until the KO, he wasn't getting embarrassed. He can hang with Vic, not get flustered by the awkwardness and get a straight counterpunch in there sooner or later.

Of course, he could get caught, too...
