    Great if it comes off...but we will see, the Bobfather will see some reason not to put it on or something will happen that will torpedo it.

    I mean ones fighting in Columbia, the other is either co-main or lower on InDemand....not exactly building a superfight there Bobby boy..and if the hype isnt there than HBO may well just pass.

    It's disgusting. Maybe Penalosa/Lopez? Early 2009? Super Bantamweight.

    I stand corrected , you are right , that has changed dramatically since the last time i checked , anyway !!!

    I thought Montiel and Donaire at 3 and 4 respectiveley was actuallly quite accurate , regardless there both considered top fighters P4P and this fight should be standing shoulder to shoulder with any " big fight " out there at the moment :deal

    This is a good fight and close one to call, I think Donaire wins on points but its an even match up. The problem is I'm skeptical of it happening. Arum talks about making a lot of fights he doesn't and HBO doesn't have a lot of interest below featherweight. I hope it comes off in early 2011 but I'm not sure it does.

    i hope it does. finally we can end all this donare hype nonsense.

    he has rode his career so far off one left hook.

    beating motiel will make him a solid p4p'er, losing to montiel will expose him as overhyped in my eyes.

    I guess they've shown a couple of Lopez fights, but they don't show much. I don't believe Donaire or Montiel has ever fought on HBO.

    Montiel has fought in HBO before...I remember his fight with Jhonny Gonzales being on HBO Boxing After Dark .

    I think Montiel vs. Mark Johnson was on HBO as well. But it's true that HBO somehow overlooks the great lower weight-classes incl. the SBWs that gave us a the Vazquez-Marquez trilogy, Somsak-Monshipour, Lopez-Mtagwa and Dunne-Cordoba and there's plenty of action south of 122 as well.

    Montiel-Donaire would be a good start.

    It's really been their loss and I wonder if they look back on trying to market the Arreolas and such that they see the error. Rarely do you see a fat-assed flyweight or bantamweight crying in his corner.

    :lol::lol::lol::lol:

    This is as fickle and contradicting post as i think ive ever seen .

    So Donaire beats a naturally bigger man , who is a multiple weight world champion he's still a nobody ?? Donaire loses and bang he's EXPOSED !! :nono look through the weightclasses , Montiel is the most difficuilt fight out there for Donaire , the fact he's taking this fight says a lot about the guy , and Donaire is ranked P4P for good reason IMO , you only have to watch the guy for the 30 seconds to realise how talented he is ...................

    Donaire is very talented no doubt, but number 4?? Thats way too high considering he only has one very good win, dont you think?

    I dont understand how Donaire can rank so high when he usually fights guys that are unknown.

    Then you got Montiel fighting the champions and he ranks 9.
