Yeah, that was actually the headliner the night Paul Williams fought Walter Matthysse. HBO also showed Abner Mares' fight against Damian Marchiano, plus Lopez-De Leon, Lopez-Penalosa, Gonzalez-Penalosa, Arce-Ler, Arce-Makepula, and Ponce De Leon-Bautista.

#4 is pretty high considering his resume is weaker than the chasing pack yes , actually i do agree , but then i look beneath Montiel and Donaire and you have Marquez , Williams , Martinez , Cotto , and Bradley now as the latest edition @ #10 , and im thinking hmmmm , Donaire on ability alone doesnt look so out of place amonsgt that lot , i honestly in my own list have Montiel 3 , Donaire 4 and Martinez 5 with not a great deal seperating them , and IMO Martinez if he beats Williams may actually replace Floyd @2 .................. and like wise for PW if he wins may go as high as 2 or 3 also ....................

Montiel is actually ranked #8 by the Ring not 9 .....................

If it was based on ability alone Judah would have been #1 for years.
Its about who you face too.

Otherwise im sure there is 20-30 undefeated Euros right now who would be top p4p fighters.

Im disappointed in Donaire not getting bigger fights after Darchinyan.

Well Oscar De La Hoya was considered the best P4P fighter in the world in 95 having fought nobody :deal

I think Donaire is a special talent and warrants a high entry , but thats opinion based , your right who you have fought should and does come into play , hence Marquez , clearly on current form does not warrant a P4P entry , i mean he looked like **** against Diaz but still holds down a top 5 place and probably will until he looks worse or begins to lose fights ala a Benard Hopkins type situation , the P4P rankings will always have an un try'd and tested high entry , thats because these type of fighters look that little bit special against lower level opposition , so good that people begin to consider them P4P worthy .

Look at Gamboa , i mean pre Salido nobody could argue that Gamboa didnt belong in the top 10 P4P in the world based on what we had seen previously , and bang one dire performance and he's all hype :-( , P4P is in some cases based on pure ability and not resume , thats why Donaire is there ........... right or wrong , time will tell , but if he's gonna jump up to BW and maybe eventually FW he's certainly gonna have the opponents to crash and burn or excel ...........

Thats a stretch comparing them mate...I believe Oscar was in the top 5 but still behind the likes of Roy and Pea.

His record shat on Donaire's at that stage..Molina, Rueles, Leija, Bredahl, Hernandez among others. Hardly nobody and as I said I dont believe he was considered the no1 at all.

One of the best fights to happen at the lower weights in years I can't wait. My gut tells me to go with Donaire but you can't even underestimate Montiel.

I'll wait until the weigh in before I start jumping for joy. If its true that Donaire is facing Sidorenko first then I'll wait before that is done too before being moderately excited about this upcoming fight.

Montiel is the most underrated boxerer.

He's had as many rounds as the Mexican legends like Morales and Marquez dangerous boxer for sure.Power & experience vs speed and skilled counter puncher. So you know it's a good fight.

I predicted this fight will happen next year now I predict Donaire will hit the canvass
because of his leaky D.Will he get up or won't he? that's the question.

Time to step up and SHOW if he got the heart and chin of a pnd for pnder.

Alot of these mexicans are experienced ( battle hardened) 40 plus fights or more against qty opponents. That's the kind of

opponent Runaire is against strong battle tested experienced champion etc. LOL.
