Hasegawa offered Montiel a fight for his WBC title. However he wants the fight on April 29th in Tokyo.

Top Rank has stated that they would like him to fight on the Pac undercard next month.

The fact that Top Rank has not discussed a fight between Montiel and Nonito only confirms that Nonito would never fight a real opponent.

I really hope this happens. Montiel's a quality fighter and if Hasegawa beats him, it'd really catapult his status over here.

I really wish that Hasegawa will be able to fight outside of Japan soon.

It would make up for the rest of the crap undercard for the Pac/Clottey fight...****, it would probably be better than the main event.

A great addition to the undercard? Understatement, this is a fight we all want to see. Bantamweight is pretty much stacked, and Montiel and Hasegawa are two of the very best.

NFW would this be on the undercard of Pac-Clottey. You don't get a unification fight on 4 weeks notice, where one guy just fought a few days ago.

I don't think it will eclipse the main event. I think Hozumi will dominate Montiel and stop him early. PAC-Clottey could be a more competitive fight.

It's time for Hozumi to add a popular named opponent to his list of victims.

That was my first reaction. But then again, Montiel didn't even have to work a full round. Body shot, and done.

    Glad you caught it.

Montiel planned to stay active...the post says the Hasegawa wants the fight in Tokyo.

It doesn't matter where this fight happens. Hasegawa will brutally KTFO Montiel.

    Indeed.

Edit: Read it wrong. They want Montiel on the undercard, NOT the Montiel vs Hasegawa fight on the undercard.

No way Hasegawa can get ready for March, there's not enought time. Shame Arum only came up with the idea this late and they are short of time, because it'd have been Hozumi's PERFECT international introduction.

    DAMN!

Oh well, if Japan it is, then be it, it's much better than coming up with some Latin Fury idea I'm pretty sure Arum is already considering...

Main thing: bring this on and I'm gonna be a happy happy man!
