Duran would do well against the greatest Welterweights of all time, and well as being one of the best of his era.

Mayweather is ****in class right now, that much I know.

 

I'll gladly hop on this bandwagon as soon as he fights someone decent, not an ancient Mosley, an undersized Marquez or a B/C-class Ortiz who had his ass handed to him by Maidana and drew with Peterson. If he looks ****ing class against Martinez (which I suspect he would) or Pacquiao (which I suspect he wouldn't), then I would concur. Until then, he's only doing what he has been since he left 135, looking good against handpicked opposition designed to make him look good, a mixture of past-prime 'names' and prime mediocrities.

 

I'm the same. I think an 11 stone Floyd beats the full middleweight Sergio with relative ease, he's faster, sharper, will keep Sergio flurrying at thin air and box his head off throughout. Martinez is wide open (to the right hand in particular) and nowhere near as slick or reflexively gifted as he likes to think he is.

 

Listen, he can do no right, I;m not a fan of his, I'm only a fan of a couple of a few fighters probably. You can still be class even if the competition isn't as good as you. So if a fighter looks impeccable against a lower level fighter can I not call him class? Some fighters fight a lower level of opposition and aren't inspiring. Ray Robinson would look impeccable against fighters who weren't on his level at times and get all the plaudits. Same for Wlad Klitschko, Tyson, Lopez, they all got credit, let;s just be consistent then.

Pacquiao lately has fought plenty of fighters who fit him stylistically. A Shane Mosley who was nothing at the weight at the time of fighting. An Antonio Margarito who was nothing at the weight at the time of fighting, Joshu 'terrible rendition of Winky Wright' Clottey who is tailor made for Pacuiao. So we have to go back to Cotto, four fights ago to find something special for Pacs resume if we're going to be really critical. But guess what? I'll still go on record now and say Pacquiao is ****in class right now. Mayweather has looked outstanding in his last few fights regardless of the competition. And Ortiz, regardless of his level was a top ranked fighter at the time he was thoroughly outclassed. I give Mayweather no credit at all for the Marquez win, as I will do to Pacquiao when he outclasses him soon, Marqez is nothing at 147 pounds, and Floyd and Pac are both firmly established at the weight.

Both Pac and Floyd are stinking out boxing with their recent antics. I'm glad for them to fight Khan/Bradley etc or fight each other, anything else and I'd rather they both just **** off and I'll gladly celebrate them as retired greats.

 

yeah, I would favour him over Sergio too. The part which I differ from most people in is that me favouring Floyd is something I credit to him being ****ing class as opposed to a lot of people who seem to think that Floyd being favoured in all these fights makes him a **** house or some madness. He's favoured because he is very good.

 

I'm not bashing him mate, I think he'd win easily.

Although I don't rate Sergio all that much, he is the no.1 Middleweight, pretty fast, has a decent whack, and gets a good second wind downthe stretch. He's beaten decent-to-good opposition, although he has one outstanding win (KO 2 Williams) and if Floyd beat him in the manner I think he would, it would be an astounding victory and the best of Floyds career.

As I say, Martinez is no great, but the other factors in the fight would make it a great win IMO.

I'd pick Duran to either win a UD or score a late stoppage if Mayweather wasn't interested in taking a beating late in the fight.
