Duran is a master technical fighter, while Cuevas' punches would have a more devastating effect.....I see it going either way, frankly.

    Duran by stoppage

Just a level above Cuevas. But it would have been exciting while it lasts.

I just can't imagine Cuevas winning under any circumstances.

Don't I, though! I mean, Cuevas was still in peak form when Duran actually did get to him, is that what you were thinking?

    Duran

I don't understand why people say 'Montreal Duran'. 'Welterweight Duran' is sufficient. Anyone who has studied the 147 pound version of Roberto Duran in his entirety understands that he was the same fighter in all of his fights at the weight from a stylistic perspective. 'Welterweight Cuevas' is sufficient also, let'e not act like he was a different welterweight after Hearns starched him.

'Montreal Duran', '88 Tyson', 'Honeyghan from the Curry fight', give it a rest.

A replica of their 1983 fight. Can't see any other scenario.

I'd say "Palomino & Montreal" Duran. He was sloppy in his tune-up fights at 147 and only truly got up for those two bouts. He would have also gotten up for a Cuevas fight and given him a beating similar to Palomino, except Cuevas wouldn't have the chin or the defense to last the distance. The wild bombs of Cuevas would be missing while the pin-point accurate blows of Duran would be landing.

An in shape Duran at 147 beats the crap out of Cuevas every time.

yeah, you know what I mean though? If we say 'lightweight Duran' we all know what is meant by that, it's Duran at his best 135 form. The same should be said when it comes to 147 Duran. 'Montreal Duran' annoys me man, it's just something that gets on my nerves, same with '88 Tyson', just call it 'prime Tyson', we know what is meant by that.

I don't know... what I do know is that '88 Tyson beats Tokyo Douglas though.
