I see it being very close too perhaps even a draw, simply because they were less apprehensive to call draws back in those days, pretty much a pick em..

    Nobody is getting KO'D here..

pay no mind to those amateur opinions "Leonard is bigger...."

Ray's been whipped by smaller men without much of a problem and literally ran away from another small man in Pryor

the same man who was dropped by shrimpy K. Howard

Napoles is much hungrier, and busier. Leonard wouldn't be able to keep pace with this thoroughbred

I see Jose winning by the scores of 12-3, 11-4, and 10-5 at worst

You're only half right. Leonard was only bigger.

Was Napoles a blown-up jr. welter? I know he fought Monzon so he could fight bigger guys. I don't know enough about him or seen enough of his fights to say for sure how he would do. I would give SRL the edge due to size and speed.

Size wouldn't be an issue here, Leonard was 5-9 1\2 Napoles 5-8, and Sugar had an inch or 2 advantage in reach..

If there were a 4 or 5 inch difference it would be an issue, but obviously not in this matchup..

you're right I almost forgot thanks for bringing that up. It's actually one of my favorite memories

For any of Ray's fans I imagine its a pretty bad loss judging from the looks of the crowd. Until then, I never saw a crying audience :|

Imagine, Leonard the favorite, knocked out by a blown up featherweight

btw, was Hector 34 or 24?

Did Hector have even more losses than Ray?

If so then we should just appreciate the masterful upset

my man just had his number! You see, it was the SPEED!

not to mention the fact he was more tenacious, smarter, faster, better chin, footwork, style, durability, jab, hook, you name it, better EVERYTHING!

and inside the ring, 100 % more professional

Leonard too fast. And he punched hard enough to keep NApoles honest. Leonard would stop him late.
