What big fights? The ONLY "big" fight is DeGale... And guess what, Canelo is a much bigger fight.

 

MW is only as good as the fighters that are fighting in it at a given time historic prestige is irrelevant.:deal The HW is seen as the most prestigious division in boxing but everyone knows the division has gone to ****, it doesn't work like that. The quality of fighters make the division not history.

 

Right nwo, 168 is not even a good division. 175 is where it's at and Golovkin is way too small for that.

 

DeGale is a more difficult fight for GGG than Canelo is for obvious reasons. It would be a bigger risk for GGG to fight Degale at 168 than to fight Canelo at 160 and thus he would receive more credit for it.

 

How about De Gale? Ramirez once he beats AA? Chudinov, Groves, Chavez JR? Chavez JR is a punching bag you say? You may be right, but Chavez is huge, and I'd like to see how he stacks up to that big punching bag.

 

It's a more difficult fight because size and styles but p4p Canelo is just as good an opponent if not better.

 

I mean this is what it has come to, GGG should move up for the dangerous single fight in DeGale. This forum has reached newfound levels of re****ation.

 

Don't you think it's better then waiting for JR MW's to move up? You think Saunders, and Jacobs are really going to fight GGG before he turns 35 years old?

I think your only problem is the size issue. If they were all the same size you wouldn't care. Quick question. When it's all said and done who will be the greater fighter, Pacquiao or GGG?

 

He can fight Canelo I'm not against the fight and I want to see it. But Canelo is in no rush for the fight to happen and he has the backing the WBC who has no credibility I might add and GBP they have already gone on record saying Canelo isn't a MW and his body isn't ready, I mean how much more proof do you need. Do you want GGG to become another Khan who sat around kissing PBF and Pac's ass begging for a fight? He will waste time waiting on Canelo the best thing he could do is be proactive and take on a guy Degale in the meantime.

 

There's nothing for him at 168 except for the Ward fight, that's a big legacy booster and potentially a good money fight too but it seems that fight is off the table and here goes any incentive for GGG to move up, so if he should have, that ship has sailed.

But why do you think Pacquaio is greater? Maybe because he's so small and moved up multiple weight classes and beat bigger men because he was so damn good? Sure, not only that doe, he had the guts to go out there and reach for greatness. It seems like you guys are content with GGG staying at 160 the rest of his career. I don't get it.

Historically prestigious divisions can also be weak.

Take Heavyweight and Middleweight for example.

A weak division is weak....regardless of past prestige.
