Been getting in to a fair bit of Carlos lately and how he'd do against some of the Best middle s in time .What s your opinion of Monzon against listed ? LaMotta Hopkins Pavlik McCallum Nunn Leonard Hearns Benn Jones JR Hagler 10 fights ,15 Rounds ,what's the final tally ?
His toughest fights are with Hopkins, McCallum, Jones Jr., and Hagler. I see him going 2-2 here or 3-1 …. overall probably 9-1 .. could run the table tho … So tough to call
LaMotta - Unanimous decision but outside chance of a trilogy Hopkins - Loss UD15 Pavlik - Win UD15 McCallum - Win UD15 Nunn - Win UD15 Leonard - Win UD15 Hearns - Win late stoppage Benn - Win via TKO might hit the canvas Jones JR - Loss UD15 Hagler - Win UD15 Wins 8 with LaMotta a chance too.
I agree. I've always thought Monzon was the greatest middleweight champion, and I still do. He defeats all the names listed.
The Monzon that put 2 bad whippings on Nino, was a bad hombre (even with Nino at the end of his career).
LaMotta - Monzon UD Hopkins - Monzon MD/SD Pavlik - Monzon KO/TKO McCallum - Monzon UD Nunn - Monzon late (maybe come from behind) KO/TKO Leonard - Monzon UD Hearns - Monzon Mid KO/TKO Benn - Monzon early-mid KO/TKO Jones - JR Jones UD Hagler - Hagler close SD
I like McVey middles in the GGG thread as they are better than the ones you listed. I'd pick Monzon over LaMotta, Pavlik, Benn, and McCallum I'd pick Nunn, Leonard, Hearns, Jones, and Hagler to beat Monzon. Monzon vs Hopkins, a hard to call match up, so draw. 4 wins 5 losses 1 draw
LaMotta - Win UD 15 Hopkins - Win UD15 Pavlik - Win UD15 McCallum - Win SD15 Nunn - Win UD15 Leonard - Win UD15 Hearns - Loss UD Benn - Win UD Jones JR - Loss UD15 Hagler - Loss SD15
IMO his toughest fights are with Nunn, Hopkins, RJJ and Hagler in which could be a toss up his style does not stand up well with Nunn or RJJ with Hopkins its a tough call in which I think Hops subtle skills could pull it out and Hagler at his best is tough for anyone boxing or punching he could do it all.
