    Thanks. :respect

I get what you're saying in that Benn will be ruthless when they get close and when Monzon tries to manhandle him, Benn will basically be lashing out with hooks etc. He did this a lot at 160, early in his career, it was the hunger i guess.

I do think that Monzon's will to win is ultimately stronger though. I don't see Benn lasting the distance myself. Just a huge task, all things considered.

I agree Benn is explosive going forward and uick at doing it but Monzon had the great timing where HE could lead and catch Benn as he starts his attacks. Basiclaly its Benn's going to step forward as Monzon jabs and cathes it IMO.

Agreed, he is going to stamp out Benn's aggresion by no letting have it by timing his advances and backing him up with stiff shots.

Agreed, but Monzon could do other things as he showed in other fights. What you have said is true in all fighters really, that in one performance they dont necessarily show the tools to beat another fighter, does not mean they dont hathough.

Sorry, got a bit over the top. What fight in particular do you feel this is the truth?

I'd say that Monzon was clearly a better finisher than either Barkley or McClellan though and a harder hitter than Barkley IMO, even if Nigel was a dangerous ******* when you had him in trouble and not so easy to finish.

Agree about Eubank in a certain sense though; the man had good power when he used it and was a good finisher too as demonstrated against Benn, Watson et al.

He didn't hit as hard as those 2 though, certainly not McClellan anyway. Benn has pretty decent head movement on the way in to.

I'm not even picking Benn here, I'm just :-( at people thinking its easy work. Then someone actually saying BEnn will go into a shell :-( he said after losing his titles at MW, you're going to have to kill me to take these belts off me, and McClellan did his best to do just that

1 thing worthy of note, Benn fought the best version of Eubank, Chris was somewhat affected by the Watson trauma in my view

Benn would probably get the crap beat out of him after some entertaining explosive early rounds.Finished off circa 5th with a barrage of accurate clubbing rights.

He didn't pace himself well when going all out at 160, and he sure isn't going to trouble Monzon with the more reserved boxing he showed against Sanderline Williams etc...

Too open and easy to hurt imo.

I've no doubt that Benn would do nothing other than try to win or go out on his shield. It's how he was - easy work for no man. Like I said, one of my favourite fighters.

Monzon though had greater timing and accuracy than McClellan, if not greater raw power, and I'd say that the former is more important in negating Benn's head movement or taking him apart in general. Plus if Carlos had Benn in the same situation of being hurt that Gerald had him at any point, I'd be less confident of Nigel getting off the hook.

Do you think that Benn sees the final bell?
