Now since Canelo (and Oscar) have pushed GGG back to the point of being non-significant 5 years from now,...how would the Cinnamon Kid do against Monzon, with the fight being held in Monte Carlo???
Monzon stops him...tko in 13...having Canelo down in that 13th. He punishes the red head through out and basically shuts him down from doing anything effective. This fight result tonight shows just how far the middleweight division, like boxing in general, has degenerated.
Monzon all the way. Canelo may have a few bright spots early on but he can't really push the pace and he's a sucker for a long jab. He'll probably go the distance but I can't see him winning vs Monzon with legit judging. In Vegas, he'd have a decent shot at a draw.
Monzon's height and jab would control a fight against Canelo or GGG for that matter. Canelo would tire and find it hard reaching the finish line. Monzon would up the ante as soon as he wilted. GGG would be more likely to see the finish but would be soundly outpointed.
Agreed. I'm not sure either could last over 15, to be honest, but in any event, both would result in comprehensive victories for Monzon.
GGG would have stopped Canleo if the fight took place 5 years earlier. I'd expect Monzon to grind his way to a decision
This one could be held in Guadalajara with DLH and Byrd judging it. And they still would be throwing in the towel to stop it in the 12th
You'd have to shoot Oscar, and tie up Canelo and throw him into the ring to fight Carlos Monzon. He gets killed inside 10
Canelo gets taken apart by Monzon .all over in about 8 rnds .not a pleasant night for the ginger ninja!
Monzon would be impressed with Canelo's victory celebrations that's for sure. https://www.news.com.au/sport/boxin...n/news-story/d118c78c120fba5a1c667014f46c7b4d
Canelo has a tendency to fade a bit later in tough fights which plays right into Monzon - stoppage 12-15th round Monzon was one the best middleweights ever.
