any thoughts? i think jake outlast monzon in a grueling fight but monzon kos graziano. i just dont see rock getting his big bomb in ther enough.
Monzon was too big and smart for either man. Monzon would decision LaMotta over 15, and was entirely too clever for him. He would easily score on Jake, and hurt him with the right in the later rounds. Monzon would have an easier time with Graziano, stopping in 7 probably with a couple of rights.
what do ytou mean monzon was too big for jake ?youre talking bout a guy(lamotta) who beat some of the best light heavies out there when no one else would come near them, however i do think monzon was a smarter fighter but could he handle the workrate and body punishment dealt out by jake?on the other side i see monzon blowing graziano away early.
Even if Graziano can land some of his vaunted bombs, what's it going to do? Floor him at most, at which time he gets up without a problem like he did against Valdez? Monzon went 30 combined rounds with Bad Bennie.
I agree that Monzon would stop Graziano in the middle rounds. Lamotta would eat a lot of jabs, right hands, and even hooks/uppercuts on the way in. He's not stopping Monzon and I think Monzon would be banking rounds en route to a decision.
Jake would be a tough fight for him with a few rough moments over 15...close decision and Jake could take it...Monzon should be able to outpoint Graziano over 15 but he would feel a few right hands and mabey the floor
