Tough one to pick. Maybe Jones doesn't look as good on film if he has to weigh in at 160 a few hours before the fight and doesn't have the stamina to keep up his immense work rate for the full 12. Maybe Monzon given 24 hours bulks up to a light heavyweight bruiser and is able to use his physical advantages to wear Jones out within the distance whilst being behind on points.

Although Monzon's style and physical attributes are both equipped to take out almost any style of fighter, Jones' unique style and unmatched combination of speed, power and reflexes definitely poses the toughest test for Monzon.

RJJ is everybody 160-175s toughest matchup. Monzon's GOAT jab is the closest thing to a kryptonite though

Roy Jones was the second best Middlewieght of all time. He wins, but Monzon was top 5.

I'd rate him below a few as a matchup. Charles is the monster match at 175.

Ezzard Charles? I just cant compare fighters from the 40s to modern fighters, it's barely the same sport

Charles would have little trouble with "modern" fighters. The 40's may have even been the peak of the sport.

I agree, but in my opinion from the 40's through the 80's. That 40yr period was the best ever in the sport.

I agree- the 80s was the last truly great time in boxing.

You will never have Leonard,Hagler,Hearns,Benitez and Duran caliber of boxers actually FIGHTING one another - the talent simply isnt in boxing today

I'm sure Charles would have a panic attack if he had to fight the destroyer that is Sergei Kovalev

Jesus Christ can you imagine Ward in the 40s or Spence in the 40s??? They'd reign unopposed in their respective divisions...... talk about ruling without mercy ......
