Monzon's little boy, Abel, was sick when he fought Bogs..he first wanted to go home and be with his son, but since he couldn't....he took it out on poor Bogs so he could get back home to his son. Monzon, from what I've read, was a better father than husband.
Bogs' promotor Mogens Palle hired a new trainer for Tom for this fight. It was Al Silvani. He wanted Bogs to fight like Joe Frazier. Rolling and throwing the hook. He wanted to change Tom and he had like 2 months or so. Of course it didn't work and Bogs got hammered. I'm definetely not saying that Tom would have won, but this certainly was not the best of Tom Bogs. Oh. And Monzon is a certified beast.
He could have abandoned his son before birth and sent him his faeces in the mail every Christmas and STILL been a better father than husband.
