I think that they can bang a decent venue out for this MEN Arena... Sheffield Arena.....Rhodes may suprise a few here......:bbb:bbb
You have to got to give both guys a TON of credit for taking the fight at this stage of their careers. I thought they wouldn't fight with both of them being so close to a world title shot and not wanting to risk a loss against a domestic rival. Props to both Rhodes and Moore :good
After the Small pull-out and no rescheduling either, I think Rhodes deserves huge props for this as well:good. As for Moore, IMO, this is why he's ready for a title shot- he's willing to take any fight.
I don't think for one minute that Rhodes bitched out of the Small fight at all..... he could hardly have known that this was on the cards - though I was surprised to see him at ringside for Moore vs Piccirillo. Who is everyone supporting BTW? I like Moore a lot, but supporting a red over a white would be bordering on heresy
I'm surprised at Rhodes taking this fight, when he pulled out of the Small fight I thought he was trying to "short cut" to a world title on the back of his reputation. Its a good fight for Moore, Rhodes won't be able to handle the pressure and JM will have a very good name on his record.
I will be rooting for Moore purely because I prefer his style and I think he's the one with the better chance in a title fight against Martinez. That said, I don't mind if Rhodes does win:good.
I was under the impression that Rhodes fight against Vuma was supposed to be a final eliminator for the WBC strap....I really yearn for the days when final eliminator meant precisely that. :-(
But even back then there was a very real difference inbetween a world title "final eliminator" and just a world title "eliminator".
God no it wasn't even close, the winner of the fight was promised a top 10 spot in the WBC rankings(which Rhodes received). It would have been a little crazy to have that as an eliminator(unless it was something like a quarter-final).
