Who do you think wins this fight? Lets say it takes place at heavyweight and it was the Moorer who fought Holyfield against the Toney that fought Holyfield.

I think it would be a pretty good fight and Moorer would give Toney all he could handle. I couldn't pick a winner if I'm being honest.

    Thoughts?

Moorer should win this if motivated.

Moorer was a great light heavy, and a very good heavy.

Toney has done nothing at heavy to be compared to Moorer.

Would the result be different if the fight were at light heavy??

At light heavy Moorer was a freak of nature, too bad his resume at 175 doesn't include any real big name, I've always thought he could have chopped down ANYONE at that weight.
At 175: Moorer stops Toney in the late rounds or gets a wide UD

At heavy: he would beat him even more convincingly, just think about the '90s Moorer.....Toney doesn't have the power to hurt him and it was very difficult to outpoint Moorer.
    Kind of a mismatch.

I agree really, my only thoughts were that the light heavy fight would favour Moorer more because his power was already there at light heavy, didn't really gain that much going up.

Toney however seemed much more powerful as a heavy than a light heavy, evening things up just a bit more.

Still, that's semantics. And how much was Toney, and how much was roids, who really knows now? Two positive tests shows a pattern of behaviour IMO.

I would go with Toney on a close UD. The way he man handled Holyfield at cruiser though it was an old Holyfield. I think the same JT would of gave prime Holyfield hell. Moorer is NOT knocking out Toney. Moorer was a soutpaw with a good style for bigger slower opponents. For a slick counter puncher with faster hands that would be interesting.

**** it why dont we ask for it?

moorer is doing nothing and is stuck in a place which is that he might not think he is up for big tall opponants

toney is off suspension due to batchelder being on steroids aswell at the first 1/3 of the year or so.

    bring it i say

    Toney UD.
I see one or 2 are picking Moorer by KO. If Peters bombs didn't shift Toney...how would Moorer do it?
Toney is the better boxer and that's why I pick him...simple as that.

Moorer UD, wide at that, maybe a total shutout, terrible style for Toney.

i think toney either wins by UD decision or late stoppage.

toney's skill level and overall as a fighter he is nothing below BRILLIANT. the guy could fight anybody no problem. he is very underrated!
i have seen alot of fighters, and i must say James Toney is the most perfect fighter i have ever seen. his precise mix of mental (patience, stubborness) and phyiscal (defense- killer instinct, and everything else) skills is truly awesome. and the fact he has been fighting since the benn-eubank era, and is still fighting at the highest level (and at heavyweight) is amazing. :deal

    enough said!
