No but it builds the muscles that act as shock absorbers. Anyone who thinks PEDs dont or cant improve durability dont understand how they work. Yes some fighters may be more susceptible to being stopped due to a variety of physiological/neurological issues but a big factor in being able to take a punch is the strength of the neck and jaw muscles. Hence why fighters do neck strengthening exercises and why fighters like Jack Dempsey routinely chewed pine tar to strengthen the jaw muscles. Lennox Lewis himself when asked why he didnt go after Holyfield in their first fight said "He has this GREAT BIG neck..." So yeah, I stand by my comment. Joe didnt need steroids to be one of the greatest HWs in history. Holyfield did. Give Joe Holyfields steroids and youd see a much different fighter and likely more durable.
I find it hard to disagree tbf, Evan Fields was juiced to the gills blatantly, think it was more obvious with him than the rest, Morrison, Tyson have admitted it, I think they all did until it got stricter, then obviously the masking got better
Moorer was in his prime, but not 100% healthy. He had some sort of shoulder injury. His handlers knew Moorer could be upset any any time, ( given his chin ) so they rolled the dice on a larger money fight. Perhaps they knew Moorer's heart was not in it. Indeed he quit boxing for three years after this fight. Moorer didn't come in his best shape. Although it doesn't get much press, Moorer had some problems outside of the ring.
