Sergio Mora, Cory Spinks and Paul Malignaggi are all very similar fighters. I think they give people problems enough to come close, but just not enough to be consistent. All of them have good wins against good opposition and their styles are just hard to fight against. With Paulie, he really fought bigger guys so he was at a greater disadvantage then Spinks and Mora, but Spinks and Mora are or were very tricky and a tough out for most. IThoughts??
Malignaggi is nothing like the other two. You;re just saying he is because; 1. you're not knowledgeable enough, 2. he has comparable power to Mora and Spinks is not a big puncher either.
He is very similar. He just fought bigger guys thus he was walked through a lot easier, Cotto, Khan and Hatton. The one time he fought a smaller very good fighter, he outboxed and outfoxed Juan Diaz. Paulie is a little more exciting I will give you that. Spinks outboxed Judah in their 1st fight and did the same with Mayorga. Mora outboxed Forrest in the 1st fight, and the same against Manfredo, plus he gave Mosley fits. I am talking from a standpoint of using skill over brawn to beat fighters, not strictly on movements, etc.
You didn't make that too clear. But Malignaggi is an offensive minded fighter, Spinks and Mora are defensive minded, there is a huge difference.
I think that's a very fair assessment. Minus Malignaggi being a bit more exciting than the rest. Spinks also was in a few bit more exciting matches in his last few outings.
:rofl I think Malignaggi would have been a helluva fighter if he had power. Not sure about Spinks or Mora.
