Mora won the 8th round with his workrate alone, a round basically in which Forrest took a break from a very good fight between two counterpunchers, which by the way usually makes for a boring fight.

However, Mora landed two good punches in the fight, a right hand in the 9th round that Forrest shook off and then proceeded to win the round, and then Mora landed another right hand in the 11th, but was followed by Forrest with a devestating combination, culimating with a left hook that almost put Mora on his ass. Forrest won that round as well.

Forrest also managed to knock Mora down in the 7th with a hybrid left hook/left uppercut.

In the end, the lowest score Forrest received by the judges was 117.

Despite Mora being very hard to tag cleanly as a 6 foot counterpuncher with decent speed, Forrest was very accurate and landed pretty much at will.

Doesn't seem like a finished fighter. Did people say Floyd was finished after Castillo 1?

From what I heard he trained like a dog for the fight. I think physically his body is leaving him.... He is still a top fighter but I don't know how much more his body can take. Btw I see Forrest winning a 3rd fight with Mosley were it to happen.

I could never get Forrests success against Mosely. A guy who loses to Mayorga and Mora beats Sahne 2 out of 2. Kind of like Fritzie Zivic against Henry Armstrong?

Even though Forrest was a great counter puncher he simply did not have great power to hurt Mayorga and nothing could stop Mayorga once he was in a wild fury. Great fighter that many people loved despite his antics. Wasen't to impressed with Angulo either and thought Mayorga could have another good name on his resume.

Like Baby Bull said, it's about styles.

Mayorga beat Forrest with unrelenting pressure, a solid chin and at the time great self belief.

Mosley, a smaller fighter, albeit better at the time in a PFP sense, chose to counterpunch with a skilled counterpuncher with more size. He paid the price for it.

Mora is a counterpuncher the same height and reach as Forrest, has close to as much speed, is difficult to tag cleanly and is reluctant to engage. Forrest didn't think he would have to get up for this guy and paid the price.

The rematch however was decisive and Mora was tagged repeatedly in the fight and dropped, which is rare considering his style and speed.

I have a sneeky feeling this is turning into a Floyd-Forrest discussion again.

Yeah, you're right. But that Rudyard kid called me a stupid poster. That **** got to me. Go ahead and read my latest thread about examples of fighters fighting skilled counterpunchers with size.

I appreciate your input as it is often valuable because you have knowledge.

Forrest is shot to bits. He hasn't beaten a live opponent since Shane Mosley in 2002

The difference between I and II in Forrest's performance was like night and day. It was hard to believe the excuses from Forrest at first, but after seeing the second I was convinced he didn't train well or take this fight serious first time. There is no logical boxing reason for why Forrest should lose to Mora.

And he didn't look washed up for the record. Naturally he's far removed from his best but he looked good.

Injuries did him in. All of his injuries have healed but now he is old. Remember he was out of the game for a long time trying to let the nagging injuries heal.

He lost a lot of his Prime years.

i agree. But even once your injuries heal, when you have a major injury you are rarely the same fighter. Add that to the age factor and its understandable that Forrest is shot.

    Another PBF subliminal shot.

Who gives a f_ck about a Mora or a Mora vs Forrest 1 or II. That had to be the worst rematch of the decade.

    Axe Man.

You are a pathetic idiot. You have made these posts simply to prove a point that maybe Forrest can beat Floyd right now. We got your point. We understand. Now **** off.
