Junior middleweight titlist Sergio Mora (21-0-1, 5 KOs), who outpointed Vernon Forrest (40-3, 29 KOs) to win a belt June 7, will face him again in a contractually obligated rematch Sept. 13 in Las Vegas, Mora promoter Jeff Wald of Tournament of Contenders told ESPN.com. Wald said he's finalizing a deal with Golden Boy Promotions for the fight to be the co-feature on the HBO PPV card headlined by the Joel Casamayor-Juan Manuel Marquez lightweight championship fight. Mora, first-season winner of "The Contender," missed out on potential fall fights with Mosley and Pavlik because Forrest pressed the issue of his rematch clause. "We're honoring our obligation to the rematch," Wald said. "He gave Sergio a chance to win a world championship. Sergio can cement his reputation by beating him for a second time. Hopefully, it will be a more exciting fight. I'm excited that he's fighting on Mexican independence day. We want to build that audience for Sergio, and we like working with Golden Boy." Mora also faces a due mandatory defense against Sergio Martinez, but the status of that fight remains up in the air

    This according to Dan Rafael.

But are you ****ing kidding me?

Who wants to see this fight again???????????

Than put it as the chief support to a lackluster looking main event.

When there are a lot of ppvs going on during the same time period.

Are the promoter trying to do as few ppv buys as possible?

This looks like a **** card already.

Way to go to those involved :good

It was a very clear win for Mora, something between 7-5 and 9-3.

Boring fight.. but Mora needs to give Forrest his title back.

If Forrest somehow loses again and doesn't prove that he looked dead during the first fight because of last minute weight issues, he should retire.

The main reason Vernon lost is because he didn't throw punches (and when he did throw them, he did it without much conviction). I don't know if you're joking or just crazy.

mainly crazy but I do know how great the latin snake can be and because he does not display knockout power you may think that he is not great...just look at the numbers he connects far more than his competitors aswell as with power punches the proof as they say is in the pudding:cool:

When Vernon simply threw punches, he was having success in the fight. He just looked dead in there. I believe his excuse about the weight issue.

The snake is slippery, but his defense really isn't very good against any solid offensive fighters.

So he doesn't deserve the title, but he won the fight legitimately?

I don't think much of Mora but give credit where it is due, he won fair and square when everyone was writing him off, good for him.
