Early in the fight the jab might give Marquez enough problems for Morales to be able to compete. .......but Marquez is just too good in deceiphering styles. .....what convinces me that Marquez wins this matchup easy down the latter half of the fight, is not only his much superior repertoire in his offensive arsenal, but the fact that he was so much quicker and faster than Morales. Marquez style of counterpunching is much different than MAB's style......and from the offensive side, Marquez is much more varied and two fisted in his offensive output than MAB that it would give Morales much more to think about. The only way I would see Morales competitive and in the fight late, is for him to fight backing away and take away Marquez countering opportunities........and even if he did that, he'd be fighting away from his strenghths and would likely lose the fight anyways. Use the jab and back away. Dont get into that many exchanges with Marquez so that Marquez has less of a chance to counterpunch and diplay is wider arsenal of offense. Make the fight uneventful, which is'nt Erik Morales. .....those imo would be Morales' key to victories, and I've never seen Morales fight that way throughout a whole fight. Bottom line for me is that Morales is too slow of both hand and foot, and is not on the same level of physical conditioning of Marquez to beat him.
Im sure this all depends as to how he looks in his next fight ..I would watch it but wouldn't pay to see it only because EM is past it ..
