    Morales, Barrera, Marquez...

Concerning Morales, funny how he's been 'shot' since 2005-2006. What does that say about Maidana and Danny Garcia? They struggled against a guy who's been 'shot' for 6-7 years now, according to some.

Should be obvious that they are nothing special.

Prime Erik completly dismantles dudes of that caliber.

If you asked me 10 years ago, you would have to say Barrera. Then in another 5-6 years maybe you say Morales.

Now after everything JMM has achieved later in his career, you have to put him ahead of the other two.

    #1 - JMM
    #2 - Morales
    #3 - Barrera

Even though Barrera is my favorite of the 3

There is very little between all 3 guys, anyone that knows anything about the sport knows this, I feel Morales at his peak was better than JMM & MAB at theirs... those guys can`t touch what Morales was at 122 lbs, he`s right up there with Gomez as the best ever at the weight... I don`t think Barrera proved himself Morales superior thru their 3 fights & Morales has the better career outside of their trilogy IMO.

Marquez didn`t get a lot of his biggest fights until Morales & Barrera had shaved years off each other in their own primes, that likely explains why JMM has both beat for longevity... I thought JMM beat Barrera fair & square in their H2H but Barrera did well enough that I`d pick him in their peaks, I don`t think any version of Marquez (or pacquiao for that matter) beats the very best SBW or FW versions of Morales or Barrera, namely the versions that fought each other in the excellent first fight in 2000, I think the MAB that beat Hamed & the Morales that beat Ayala at FW were superior to JMM & pac also at those weights... Erik & Marco declined beyond repair at SFW so it depends what versions your using at that weight... 140 & above & JMM (& pac) beat both Morales & Barrera.

Morales is the best of the 3, its close enough for debate tho.

Quality... Morales is the greatest, people forget just how good this guy was in his prime.

I could only make it this far before the laughter started getting out of hand.

    1. Morales definitely won the 2nd Barrera fight, score the other 2 fights how you like but please don`t even go there with trying to give Barrera that 2nd fight, Barrera himself knows he lost that, as did his corner that night, lets cut the **** on that one.

    2. Marquez deserved that decision... it might not have went the way you wanted it to go but it is what it is.

    1. Morales

    2. Barrera / Marquez

However, Barrera won the trilogy against Morales. So it's hard to compare them. Marquez arguably beat Pacquiao, but lost the actual decisions. And Morales BEAT a prime Pacquiao in 2005.

My impression is that Marquez', due to management, became Top level very late: Since 2003-2005, when the careers of Barrera and Morales were already accomplished. He has done great in he recent years, yes, but that's because he did not much in the start of his career.

Maybe it's right to say that Marquez was ruined by his management.
