Porter was very young and green back then. He talked about sparring Pac recently I think it was before his fight with Paulie.

Morales allegedly destroyed Floyd in sparring. Meanwhile, Pacquiao has been officially destroyed 3 times (twice to tomato cans), beaten a total of 5 times.

 

and?.. will that sparring session go down in history as a great win for Morales? I never even knew about it until now and so what, it's just sparring. Floyd performs when it counts. No one is gonna care about a sparring session apart from you for some strange reason.

Sparring is a training exercise and not an accurate measuring stick for an athletes competitive abilities.

Some athletes go all out when sparring, some take chances in sparring to better understand the game., some go 50%, 25%. etc.

Good for Erik though he was one of the best in the 90's, a definite solid HoF'er.
