probably been duiscussed many times before but who is going to go down as the better of these two legends?

    morales best win(s)

    barrera 1
    pac man
    hernandez

    barrera best win(s)
    morales 2 and 3
    hamed

Barrera adapted his style as his career went on less, of the all attack fighter and more of a boxer, however morales went out in the only style he knew. They were involed in argubly the greatest fight since hagler vs hearns and numerous others

my vote goes for morales,i think what he was able to do against pac man at the end of his career considering what pac man did before and after that fight is unbalievable and pushes him over the edge

In terms of resume, I give Morales a slight edge. Holds wins over Barrera, Pacquiao (which is probably the best win on both of their respective resumes), Zaragoza, Chavez, Hernandez, Jones (a fighter who beat Barrera twice), Ayala, Kelley, and McCullough.

In terms of head to head, I rank Barrera higher because of his two wins over Morales. I see him as the better overall fighter, too. He could be a technical pressure fighter, a mover, a counterpuncher, or a slugger. I think he was more defensively aware than Morales, which allowed him to last longer at the top level. He was the more fluid combination puncher and a better inside fighter.

On my list, I rank Barrera about a spot or two higher than Morales. But I have no objections to anybody who has it the other way.

:good Barrera's domination of Hamed was a joy to behold also, to add to your points above. Barrera edges it for me because he adapted/could change his style, whether for a particular fighter, or mid-fight, he was a better operator in my opinion. But like you say, they;re pretty damn even.

What I never understood was Barrera V PAC. Barrera in my opinion gave JMM a tougher fight than PAC did. I honestly thought Barrera almost took a W on that fight, however I dont get how defensively Barrera was fighting against PAC almost like he didnt have any powder left.....he looked dry the entire fight and wasnt in there. If Barrera had a better fight with PAC I would rate him higher but I think Morales went out with better style.

Morales beat more top notch guys and beat a few guys that beat Barrera in Junior Jones and Manny Pacquiao ...

He was the more savvy fighter ... better boxer ... more power ... didn't ***** up when faced with adversity and went out on his sheild instead of his bike.

I'd say these two guys are just about even.. I don't think I could choose between the two.. If I "HAD" to choose, I'd probably pick Morales personally..

Gimme Barrera...IMO,his schooling of Hamed, surpasses anything Morales has done, including beating Pac,Jones etc...That was a night where evrything came together for Marco.A pure blend of measured aggression and precision punching...That one moment IMHO,pushes Barrera ahead.

Not to deminish the accomplishments of El Terrible.Morales has earned the respect of foes and friends alike.A warrior if there ever was one.He never took a step back from no one.

The truth is,these two are probably most evenly matched rivals in the historyof this a game.Truth is,there was nothing between them as fighters.

Too bad we'll nevr see anything resembling these two gladiators in our lifetime again.

Not that this needs any repeating, but your a fool.

    1. Morales was not a better boxer.

    2. "***** up"... Your clearly a Johnny come lately to boxing. Barrera went to war many times in his career. Funny how you love a fighter who goes out on his shield in Morales, criticize a fighter who gets "on his bike" in Barrera, but defend Floyd to no end- a fighter who won't even step in the ring with the best available opponent as of right now.

Every time I read one of your posts I am reminded why I spend less and less time in this forum.

Definetly Morales. Beating Pacquiao and DEMOLISHING Junior Jones has to give him the edge. Yeah Barrera beat Morales 2 times but that doesn't make him better, just like Junior Jones won't go down in history as better than Barrera. I just like Morales credentials, although Barreras destruction of hamed was brilliant, but when Morales picked apart Pacquiao in their first fight, it was amazing.

    Morales, Morales, Morales.

Morales by a hair in my book.

He has wins over Barrera, Junior Jones, and Pacquiao, the two MAB couldn't beat in 4 tries.
