Erik was probably the underdog in this fight.
How was it back then when Morales beat Pacquiao ?

Pretty exciting, Morales was the underdog and most didn't expect him to win.

I expected him to win, and honestly, it went more or less as I anticipated. I expected more of the same in the rematch, and I was utterly shocked when Pac Man ultimately beat down the great El Terrible.

Pac was favourite because most thought EM looked as if he was showing signs of wear & tear in his previous fight with MAB & with Pac`s speed, power & style, most thought he was exactly the wrong opponent for EM if the wars were indeed taking their toll.

I think being the underdog gave EM that extra little motivation to pull out the win as if he wasnt motivated enough after the loss to hated rival MAB.

Boxing lesson should be banned from this thread. How the hell was that fight supposed to be a boxing lesson ? Morales won it pretty close imo.

The nasty cut in the 5th round and the type of gloves were huge factors in the outcome.

Watch the 2nd and 3rd fight as proofs.

Proof of the mans decline rather than Pac`s greatness is my feeling about those fights.

Even Raheem & Diaz beat that version (tho I thought EM edged Diaz) & NOBODY in their right mind will tell you they think those 2 guys would beat Morales if he wasnt shot. Come on, wake up.

I am no Pacman hater, no way in hell I am, but I was just asking how the situation was in those times since I wasn't around.

I already know about the 2nd and 3rd fight knock outs. Thank you.

Such sensitive moron Pac fans, one ounce of negativity in an assessment of Pac and you are a bad hater and wouldn't give him credit for unifying HW.:p

The Diaz version maybe but certainly not the one who fought Raheem.

Raheem is stylistically difficult for EM, add to the fact that Raheem is a natural 135.
