I've only seen this fight once, when it took place but from what I remember it was every bit as good as Barrera Morales 3 and up there with 1. Why is this fight not acclaimed?

I don't think it's forgotten at all. It was a classic. If this drops to page 2 without another post then maybe you are right. I doubt that.

It doesnt get talked about like either JMM Pac fight or EM MAB 1 because it wasnt nearly as close/good as those. It was still a great fight though. Most great fights dont get talked about all that much unless they're controversial or incredible.

I guess I agree with both of you.

It's not a forgotten fight, especially because it's in such a great trilogy, but it also deserves more attention.

Perhaps because it took place in the same year as the ridiculously exciting and dramatic Corrales vs Castillo 1. If it wasn't for that fight, this would have been a lock for FOTY, I believe.

I love the fight. Past prime Erik showing the young gun Pacquiao what would of happened had he come round 4-5 years earlier than when he did. One last great performance from the warrior.

Great fight between the two legends. Morales last win and Pacs last loss is legendary.

Great fight. I rewatched it recently as well. The fight was actually a whole lot closer than I remembered. Morales won clearly, but Pacquiao was competitive in every single round. The final round of the fight was insane.

It was acclaimed over a hundred times in this forum already and time has over taken it's significance because Morales is already out of the picture.

There are new names that cropped up and these names should be given attention.

pac should his biggest heart that fight...morales give two rounds to pacquiao by using southpaw style...if he stick to his game plan it could have been 9-3

morales maybe past his prime but pac was the smaller man there

A true classic and an ATG performance by EM. My favorite EM fight.
