Marquez saying to Manny after he hit him on the ground "You will pay for that you *******" One of the most alpha male statements of all time
Lmao. Marquez earned the draw through skill and precision. Not bravado. He was put on his ass 3 times by Manny Pac punches. Marquez was on his back foot the whole fight and countered. Whereas Morales was like bring it on you POS. From the opening the bell.
No he never he use to trade in spurts and would break and then trade this is what worked for him every time he tried to full out trade he would get knocked down he learnt his lesson in round 1 in the first fight
He never said he did. He said Marquez learned from round 1 that he needed to stay on the back foot and fight smart. Marquez thought that he would sit tight in the pocket and stand his ground and take an offensive approach. He was bigger than Pac. He planned on imposing his size, but found out that would not work.
He had to counter punch Pacquaio coming in, pac was relentless that fight forcing JMM to trade, he did it intelligently, but that was a firefight that JMM had no choice but to engage. He would have gotten wiped out if he didnt.
And as Marquez developed his own style to fight Pac, he realized that those crazy flurries that Pac went on were the only times that he was vulnerable. Thus to get to Pac, Marquez later realizes that he has to fight fire with fire. As we saw it eventually worked for Marquez.
JMM was shocked to see just how ferocious Pac was in that first fight. He thought he would be able to box him but after that disastrous first round, he had to show his merit and he did so in epic fashion. Looking at JMM going into that fight he was looked at in the shadows of Barrera and Morales and his heart was questioned, because he was a counter/boxer who took minimal risks in the ring, boy were people wrong about him.
It pissed me off when people say Pac got schooled by Marquez. HE DID NOT! Pac supplied nearly all the aggression. Landed the more damaging blows. Drove Marquez back constantly. A draw was a fair score.
Jmm knew after the first round he could not fight fire with fire all out he had to be smart when he attacked
Morales-Pac 1. I'm a bigger fan of Morales than I am Pacquiao..when he switched southpaw and went into lions den knowing this would be Pac's dream, all for glory - that was one of the best moments in boxing. This was a PRIME Pacquiao, and Pacquiao is one of the very best of all time in that division. This content is protected This content is protected
