Only he would'nt retire......a win over Maidana gives Morales vs Marquez credibity, and makes it a true money fight. I'm not picking Morales, but I'm certainly not dismissing the possibility he can win. Whats got to be remebered here is that Maidana is'nt quick, fast, and he is'nt nearly as skilled as Morales. Its not going to be an easy feat, but a skilled fighter like Morales even well past prime has a chance vs a Maidana type who's best asset is punching power. Kryptonite for a past it fighter is quicknes, speed, and manueverability......Maidana is none of those.
Interchangables will win the day. Maidana doesn't need super skills or speed to beat this Morales, only his size, stamina, and punching power, all of which he possesses in abundance. Prediction? ...."Painnn......"
Roberto Duran was given less of a chance when he climbed up those ring ropes to face a fighter in Barkley who just towered over him. I think Maidana beats him, likely even stops Morales if he goes in with the mindset that he has to set a fast pace to the fight. If its a fast pace, I dont think Morales' worn legs are going ot keep up. .....but this is Maidaina we're talking about, I dont think he's that ring smart. ......just two or three well placed shots by Morales may make Maidana leary about setting a fast pace. He'll I'm actually looking foward to seeing just how much Morales has left. I would'nt go just by his last couple of comeback fights either.......Morales even in his prime had the habit of fighting down to the caliber of his opposition. Maidana is someone Morales knows he has to be in optimum shape for.
All the training in the world will not bring back his youth. Maidana will make the 3 round ass kicking he received from Pacquiao look like a tea party.
I wish el terrible the best but i think people here are being a bit optimistic Maidana might not be the best but hes got strength and heart and a way of catching people
