First, Morales is the SECOND Mexican fighter to win titles in four weight divisions. It baffles me that people have already forgotten Jorge Arces landmark accomplishment in May. Arce won titles at 108, 112, 115 and 122. Thats four. Count em on Boxrec. Just read the above from an article elsewhere on this site - I must admit I was under the impression that El Terrible was the 1st Mexican to get belts in 4 divisions Is the Arce point right ? Cheers lads
orge Armando Arce Armenta (pronounced "ar-say"; born July 27, 1979 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico) is a Mexican professional boxer. Arce is the former WBO World Light Flyweight, WBC World Light Flyweight, Interim WBC World Flyweight, Interim WBA World Super Flyweight, WBO World Super Flyweight, and is the current WBO World Super Bantamweight Champion I count 3 'proper' titles
I believe one of his titles he won was a 'interim' title so technically no. I'm reading as i type that he's fighting Jhonny Gonzalez soon so in a way his would morally be better actually beating a title holder for his belt to claim his 4th but that's being harsh on Erik. He's deserved to win four world titles! robbed against Diaz IMO.
Arce won one Interim title, WBC flyweight, that's not really a fully fledged world championship, as dodgy as Morales' LWW title win is, he won 4 fully fledged championships.
