For me personally, this was the best fight ever & 1 of the hardest to score as there were very few clear rds if any. I admired MABs patience & body punching but liked EMs higher workrate & more frequent offence. A draw would have been the fairest result but if forced, Id give Morales the edge as he swept most of the middle rds & MAB was credited with a knock down in the last rd that shouldnt have been. What do you guys think ?
Really? The best effort Morales gave (IMO) was the 2nd match, which was easily the closest in my view. I had MAB winning all three fights, and honestly thought the first was the clearest win in the entire trilogy.
How did you guys have their first fight a draw? Are you simply ignoring the knockdown? Or did you give a two-point round somewhere along the way? I think I had it 116-111 for Barrera, and I had the 2nd and 3rd 115-113 for MAB as well.
I would give this one to EM. The second was the closest, with Marco getting the third. To be fair, you could make a case for all three results in each fight.
I've watched the 3 fights plenty----came up with a draw in all 3--possibly biased cause of my leaning towards Eric..:smoke
On paper.... yes. In reality... Nobody beat a prime Morales but certainly Barrera gave him most trouble. Erik was the greatest 122 lber Ive ever seen & would have beaten MAB more decisively in their 1st fight like he did in the 2nd if he wasnt troubled with the weight IMO. Ps. I still thought his higher volume edged him the 1st fight anyway & I only gave Barrera a 10-9 rd in rd 12 as opposed to a 10-8 rd as there was clearly no knock down.
Well, you're supposed to adhere to the ref's ruling, regardless of whether or not a mistake was made. Seems to me you're vindicating your own bias.
Morales looked better in the first fight ... he had more savvy and rhythm ... he looked more youthful than Barrera in the first fight. I remember seeing Morales showing more finess at crucial times ducking, weaving, then coming back with a barage of punches.
