For me, this was the only clear win of the 3 fights by either man but I think it went to the wrong man, it should have gone to Erik Morales as I only gave MAB 2 clear rds (9 & 12), Im NOT saying that MAB ONLY WON 2 rds but EM can make a solid claim to winning every rd BAR those 2 rds. Morales used his jab & foot movement to great effect, countered well all night & was successfull in keeping the fight at a distance for most of the way. Any time MAB did get inside, EM held his own, Morales for me defo won this fight, he outboxed Barrera. What do you think ?
Quite astonishing. I thought this was the CLEAREST win of the 3 for any man & that man was Morales. NO WAY DID BARRERA WIN THIS FIGHT..... even look at the body language after the final bell, Marco knows he lost that fight himself but obviously will never admit it. It was a `make up call` because he did so much crying after fight 1 + there wouldnt have been a 3rd fight if EM went 2-0 up
:good Good man, I scored fight 3 a draw & the 1st 2 fights for Erik. I laugh my ass off when I hear people say Barrera won all 3 fights, I think their guide dog must have taken them anywhere bar the MGM Grand on june 2002 for that 2nd fight. A clear Morales win IMHO.
That's the key--in your opinion. In the rematch, like the original before it, I saw Barrera landing the more telling blows down the stretch, and I believe he did enough to win more rounds. Admittedly (to me) this was the closest contest of the three, and the one wherein Morales performed his best, but I still believe MAB edged him out. The first and third were clearer cut MAB victories IMHO.
The 1st & 3rd fights were VERY close come on man, but I know I`ll never change your mind so I suggest you watch all 3 fights with the sound turned down so as not to be swayed by the commentators in close rds, it really does make a difference & we know they do prefer Barrera for whatever reason, maybe because he doesnt need a translator all of the time I dont know. Ps. Why was Barrera`s corner telling him he was behind going into the 11th rd (a rd in which Morales won) & please dont say `thats what they say` because if you feel your fighter is ahead, you arent going to put him in danger by making him go all out & risk getting KOd himself. MAB on paper is already 2-1 up when I dont feel he should be so at least give EM his due & give him this fight as you MUST KNOW that he did win, come on, open your eyes man, have you ever even watched the fight ? :huh
Good call. I had it 8-3-1 even for Morales. I couldnt split them in rd 3 & I gave Barrera rds 6,9 & 12. Ps. There was 1 or 2 close rds where EM was the cleaner puncher or landed the more damaging shots + his ring generalship was superior all night except for rds 9 & 12. Good technical, smart fight fought by Morales, Chuck Giampa`s scorecard of 8-4 for MAB was a sacking offence IMO.
I thought Barrera won all three fights, this one though is the one I thought was the closest and could have gone either way.
I think all 3 decisions in their fights should have gone the other way, but I am in the minority . Most agree that Barrera won the first and Morales won the second but it seems most give Barrera the third . I had it 115-114 Morales . However I think you can conceivably make a case for any fighter winning any of the fights, but if I was to pick the one that seemed the clearest, it would be the 2nd and in Morales favour .
