The key difference in this would be Gomez's vastly superior lateral movement. He would be able to get in positions where he could hit Morales without retribution. Morales would be no pushover, but I think Gomez could get him out of there late. Tough, tough fight. Possibly along the lines of Gomez - Pintor, but a prime Gomez would be too much.

Agree 100%. He'd outmanouver him like he did say, Davila, and punch his lights out late.

Morales takes it at any weight abve IMO.

And Davila was more mobile than Morales IMO. I agree that Morales gets him above 122. Gomez was one of the absolute best at 122, but probably just very good above that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't most of the forum here picked fights like for example... Cotto over Margo/ Calderon over Segura ect.. base on that? I know there diffrent fighters on diffrent levels but in reality skill doesn't always wins fights especially when It comes to a Mex vs PR war were Mexico has come on top in almost every big fight no matter how much more skill the other guy is.

That dirty cheating punk Gomez would beat Morales with his elbows, low blows, then, like a cowardly *****, he'd spit on Morales after he knocked him down, much the way he did against Zarate.

Gomez was LEVELS above Cotto or Calderon. And he was a mean, dirty mofo. And it's not like a PR never beat a Mexican. Margo over Cotto? Highly questionable given that the gloves may have been loaded. I don't see the relevance at all.

    Gomez beats Morales.

Maybe competitive in the early going, but the longer it goes, the uglier it gets.

    Gomez KO 6-12

Gomez stops Morales in 6. Wilfredo Gomez was the greatest 122 lb champ in history, bar none.

I think I favor Gomez no matter what, but if you're talking the latter-day 122 pound champ, the guy that stood toe-to-toe with Pintor and took all those shots without moving much in any direction except forward, we suddenly have a relatively even playing field. That one could get real interesting.

Great fight as long as it lasts & out of Eric & MAB i've always thought Eric was the one to maybe extend Bazooka into the later part of the fight before being smashed to bits as Bazooka nullified all styles & no one was capable of not getting drawn into trench warfare with Gomez, it's always going to be a fight for your life with him.
