I was going to say that untill I read this. :fire Oh well - Nooby gotta learn to get in here first. Also Prime EM Beats MP.
you're probably right, but what do you think of the outcome of the fight if both fighters used cleto reyes 8oz gloves?. you see, excuses doesn't justify one fighter's win or loss, lets just say both fighters have been and will be admired, it's just that the other fighter is greater than the other, and you know who i refer to 'greater'..
There has to be perspective. Forget the agenda. Even the biggest Larry Holmes fan in the world ain't about to claim their man beat a peak Muhammad Ali, but they might claim that he'd win if they ever did fight prime for prime. There is nothing wrong with an opinion as long as you can back it up with some logic. Erik Morales had many wars prior to his first fight with Manny Pacquiao, and after that he never won another fight. That indicates to me that not only was he at the twilight of his career, but for their third meeting he was both weight drained and shot. Manny Pacquiao has since proved that he is the better fighter P4P in my estimation, but who would win prime for prime is anybody's guess.
The gloves excuse is bad. But Prime EM beats MP? Based on what? MP is better now than when he fought Morales. Only speculation from both sides.
You're stating the obvious. Of course it's only speculation. That said, Erik Morales was at his prime during his 122lb days, whereas Manny is arguably in his prime as a 140lb. It's complicated with Manny, I feel.
It is obvious. But not a lot of people get it. It doesn't seem too obvious to them. They choose to believe 100% that EM would beat MP or the opposite. I don't know about Pac being prime at 140 with one fight.
He has been moving around the weights so much it's hard to gauge. He has one fight at 135lb, got more work done as a Super Featherweight, but that's where I felt Juan Manuel Marquez beat him. Likewise, he had two meaningful fights at 126lb and didn't even win them all. The manor in which he stopped a bigger opponent like Hattom at 140lb, leads me to believe we're only just seeing the best that Manny has to offer.
