I was discussing Erik Morales last night with a friend. We watched the first Morales and pac fight and i said this was Morales at his peak. My friend said no, on his day he was even better than that. Would you say that is a fair statement, or could Morales have been even better that night?

Was that only 80% of what Morales had that night?

Morales just wasn't the same, period. It's stupid people trying to put percentages on boxers i.e Morales at 80% :-(

I'd say that's fair. Past it and fading in a few areas but not shot at all, still very capable.

    Peak, no doubt.

He was almost peak in the 2nd fight as well. However here in ESB, all fights are out of peak once they lose. Every single one of the fighters... There is hardly any great fighter beating another prime great fighter because once the other lose, he is automatically not prime.

Some of you are Sofa King ******ed.

Morales had entered the midst of a 5 fight losing streak, the worst in his career and retired right after that....................the very definition of a fighter past his prime and some of you still claim he was at his peak:patsch

The trilogy took a lot out of him. He was still very much elite for the 1st Pacquiao bout though.

That wasn't peak. He had already been in some wars that took their toll on him.

That was his last great performance, but he was coming off of a (very close) loss to MAB.

Was he peak? No, but he wasn't shot (yet) either.

I think his peak was around the 1st Barrerra fight.

The Pac fight was his final hurrah, one last big performance in a great career.

I'd say peak. I also thought he won the last fight with MAB.
