Well at least you admit that he looked great in that fight.Fact is,he fought 15 blistering rounds against a fantastic featherweight. To claim he "would have fared much better if he had more time to train for such a bout" implies that he wasn't fully prepared which gets tossed out of the window due to the actual facts of his performance.Of course I was alive during that time.As I explained in an earlier post to someone else,I forgot the timeline as it's been almost 30 years. And btw, just what performances of the Professor indicated he would have fared much better?

Let's see, from 130-140,Chavez beat Chapo,Camacho and Taylor.Sanchez beat a better and younger version of LaPorte(at 126)more convincingly than Chavez did(at 130).At 126,Chava beat Nelson(who already was a great fighter as that performance indicates),Little Red twice and moving up from 122 Gomez. Those are their best wins in that timeframe.Just how is the comparison ridiculous? And btw,how is it that Sanchez doesn't have a case over Marquez?

Really?I know Gomez fought Chava 4 pounds above his prime weight, but most people consider Gomez the greatest ever at 122,a division in which all 3 of the aforementioned participated.Plus Gomez was the heavy favorite going in.At 126,My money's on the Professor over Barrera,Pac and EM.
