I think Morales was done by the time Pacman beat him. The first fight was Morales's last hurrah and that took everything he had left. He was running on pure heart alone by the rematch. The Raheem fight didn't really hurt inbetween but the one-sided nature of it couldn't have helped either.
A moving up in weight 1 eye pacquiao forced to wear pillow gloves. Anyone can make excuses. Morales lost, get over it. You probably picked him to win the 2nd fight too, every mexican did.
oh **** you thought we were talkin about pacman jones in an exhibition with morales huh. nah we were talkin about manny pacquiao its alright the name similarities probably got you confused
yea and pac was a style nightmare for morales due to his speed and power morales has himself a natural aggression and loves to scrap while he may have had better boxing abilities pac was faster and stronger and when your going toe to toe these are probably the two biggest things you need besides chin morales was great but not at any time was he ever faster nor stronger than pac
She is drop dead beautiful.........but I don't know if I could let myself be with her. If I messed up she probably would kick my ass from pillar to post......And I'd probably love every min of it!:yep
How many fights did he lose towards the end of his career?5 of his last 6? With his only victory against Pacman? Yet, before those last six fights, he had only lost once? He may not have been shot, but he was CLEARLY in rapid decline. How anyone could argue otherwise is crazy. And I like Pacquiao, but he never faced Morales at his best (and the same can probably be said in reverse, too).
Good Post Rummy! The best EM PAC faced was his loss in the their first fight. IT was close but EM clearly won. With that said....the rematch wasn't too much longer after the 1st meeting and PAC dominated, yet EM still looked strong early on....the punches in the 2nd and 3rd fights were felt more by EM at the hands of PAC. Convieiently PAC was able to were the gloves of his choice the 2nd and 3rd go round.....was that a factor??? Who knows but i think it was a mental advantage for PAC and he preformed like it was.
Well, between their first and second fight, I think Pac improved quite a bit whereas Morales declined quite a bit. But you are correct. Morales most certainly did start off strong in the rematch, and was clearly winning at the halfway point. It was around that time, that El Terrible started eating way too many punches, including some nice shots to the midsection from Pac. Pacquiao fought BRILLIANTLY in the rematch, and I think Morales fought a little less 'cautiously' (for lack of a better word) in the rematch, I'm guessing because he just figured he could handle Pac's power. To me, that was the perfect time for El Terrible to call it quits. He had lost three of his last four by then. But then again, I guess he was fighting a fierce force and that he looked good early-on. I don't know. I just hate watching him fight without seeing the El Terrible of old. It really SUCKS watching your favorite fighters age...
I know what you mean...vintage EM was a thing of beauty...he had the warrior mentality and the sweet science all wraped up in one Mexican burrito! He was a mean SOB in the ring!
Morales was shot. He aint durable kind of fighter he was 29 years old. Guys like Barrera and MArquez can fight in their 30's. Morales cannot. He is not durable. PAc can fight in his 30's. So yeah, the reason was, most his fights at 130 ended on point. Pac was moving up in weight to fight Morales. PAcquiao is the only one to stop washed up Morales. And MArquez is the only one to stop washed up Casamayor. In prime trilogy do not be surprise to see Morales eagle nose swollen and seeing him dropped at least 4 times. Yes!! PAcman can stop prime Morales, IMO. Accumulation factor..
morales was shot and we got a clear indication what would've happened if he was still in his prime in the first fight
we also have to take account the fact that on the 1st pac morales fight, pac was not yet in his prime during that time, so one dimensional and only cares about boxing accumulation, mostly one twos... i'm not being a ******* here, it's just that imo prime for prime it would still be hard to predict who would have won. i don't want to discredit either one of these fighters. i rest my case.
