Morales is a great counter-puncher, and he had good speed and reach to back it up. The problem is that he has more of a machismo streak than Barrera, and if he hurt Hamed/staggered him (which he most likely would) then I bet he would lunge in to finish the job with furious combinations, which Barrera NEVER tried to do. This would give Hamed a chance to land a big bomb.

This is a guy that fought 3 fights with Pacquiao and went 12 rounds counter punching and outboxing Pacquiao in the first fight in a faded end of his career. AND in the 12th round Morales went southpaw for 3 minutes to let Pacquiao T off on his head. You guys must honestly think Hamed could 1 shot Morales don't you?

Don't get me wrong, I would easily bet on Morales to beat Hamed.

But I honestly believe that Hamed punches harder than Pacman. The Prince had a LOT of flaws, but his power was brutal. Even Morales' iron chin doesn't guarantee that he could just wade in there and take shots in the kind of back and forth slugging that he did with Pacman, especially in the 12th round when he turned southpaw (which I loved, by the way, because it just perfectly highlights Eric's warrior mentality).

The only defense that you guys are putting up is that Morales would be drawn into a war and get caught by Hamed and get KO'd..Highly unlikely!!!! You could pray that he'd get lucky all you want and continue to factor in variables that honestly don't play that big of a roll on the professional level, Truth is he'd get schooled and manhandled by Morales because El Terrible was just SOLID as all hell in every department.

Hamed does hit harder than Pacquiao, Put I don't think he hits a zillion times harder than Pac. Pacquiao is a fighter that throws relentless straight punches, And Hamed threw unorthodox punches. I don't think Morales would let Hamed **** around with him like that, I really don't think Hamed would have a chance to goof off and get away with all the flaws that he does with average opponents. He got chin checked by kelly, and embarrased by Barrera. To me Morales would have given him the worst fight he'd ever have.

First of all Morales > Naz.

However, I think that his machoisim would take over if he thought

    A. He had Naz hurt

    B. If he was hurt and started to fire back

Both of which would b likley to happen both times he would open up and get KO'd. Just what I think would have happend, I would have put money on it

Great phrase. Hope you don't mind if I use it from time to time. :good

And, yeah, I agree with your general point that pressuring Naz was like asking to get KO'd.

Barrera boxed on the backfoot but everytime he did press the pressure on Naz, Naz panic and lost his balance. He was all over the ring everytime MAB pressed him.

As for Morales chin, its probably in the leagues of Wayne Mcullough, especially at 126 and if Naz failed to crack Wayne's, he will fail to crack Morales, especially when its Morales doing the cracking. I think Jecxbox got the analysis down here perfectly.

Morales size reach advantage speed and just physical strength would seriously give Hamed's unorthodox style some SERIOUS problems.:good

At 122 or 126 Morales wins

Also I know hamed had power, but I dont see him stopping morales.

Hamed had been on the canvas multiple times in his career, meanwhile Morales never hit the canvas as a pro or amature until he was 30 years old in the 2nd pacman fight.

I see Morales stopping Hamed before the other happens, if they go into a war and trade.

"When he hit people flush at his best the looked like they had been touched by death."

What level of fighter similar to Morales has Hamed koed?

    Morales by fatality.

Love Naz, was actually rooting for him vs MAB but this video shows what Morales would do to Naz, except alot worse because of Morales chin & height he would be able to take alot more risks:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9JETH2YNfU&feature=related

Watch how Naz looses his balance everytime MAB attacks. Its even quite embarrasing how MAB makes him look like a total amateur with simple lateral movement, he manages to completely make it to Naz blind spot.
