I think both guys were similar in a way. They were both lanky, unorthodox boxers who punched from weird angles and rely heavily on their athleticism and huge power despite lacking basic boxing fundamentals. Who do you think displayed better ‘boxing skills’?

He's talking pound for pound comparison as they both had similar styles and relied heavily on their superior athleticism to dominate opponents.

I say.... Wilder.. more composed and somewhat better fundamentals... he's jab and cross are actually underrated.

Naseem way more entertaining though :D

Nas was a special boxer.. Deontay is "special" in an entirely different way.

Neither Wilder or Prince Naseem were lacking in boxing fundamentals. Both have a very good grasp of how to punch and how to get leverage on their shots. Naseem's problem was that his hands just started deteriorating. This is why his ring activity dropped after his fight with Augie and he retired not long after the Barrera fight.

Barrera got very lucky that Naseem's left hand was already ruined going into the fight, since he barely beat a one handed Naseem and got away with a ton of fouling.

Also, Wilder's straight right is as textbook as you can get. His footwork leaves a lot to be desired, but if anyone's lack of fundamentals should be addressed its Parker, since he doesn't know how to punch or effectively move around the ring.

Hamed was a trillion times more skilled than Wilder. Having said that, Barrera schooled his a** badly. Now imagine the schooling Wilder will get at the hand of a skilled, prime boxer.

One thing no-ones mentioned here about Nas that sets him apart from Wilder is his footwork.

Nas was light and quick on his feet and this enabled him to get in and out of range. He didnt have his hands up so he needed to move his torso and his feet.
