With his new trainer and new hunger after having his child, this could be a totally different caleb plant

He's going to win some rounds and out slick David at times watch. That said I don't think Plant can outbox David for a full 12, and the constant pressure will force him to be more flat footed and be right in Front of David and trade shot for shot where I see plant taking too much punishment. Benevidez ko10

He’ll do well in the first 6 rounds, then Benevidez start breaking him down for a late TKO.

Benavidez is atleast 3 times less of a fighter than Canelo.

I'm rooting for him and honestly haven't seen much of Videz, so don't have a good guage of him, but I think Plant getting walked down and stopped by a smaller Canelo makes it hard for me to have confidence that he has the physicality to have success at the top level.

Caleb Plant is a largish SMW and that helped him look OK against Canelo who would have never fought at 168 if we were in a typical era where 160 is loaded.

Without that size advantage, it's an uphill battle for him.

The problem is the other side, there's a Benavidez family history of flashing enormous talent against lesser competition then falling apart right where David is now.

I'll be rooting for Plant only because the Benavidez family seem like a bunch of assholes. That being said I am skeptical that Plant can avoid getting tagged and stopped by Benavidez for 12 rounds

I believe Plant can pull it off, it would be tough escape.

If Benavidez had the poise, speed, agility, power and toughness of canelo id agree.

Plant needs to counter hard right at the jump. Feint a lot. Keep DB's hands holstered. Keep him thinking about throwing the right shot at the right time. He can't allow DB to get in his rhythm. DB gets into a rhythm, Plant is done.

I always felt Plant would win this fight after seeing Benavidez struggle with Gavril. If Plants chin can hold up he’s for sure outboxing David and might score a late KO. I just don’t rate David too highly to be honest he’s getting by on sheer size similar to Jarret Hurd at 154. The WBC made him the #1 contender at 175 for Beterbiev after he lost his belt on the scales and he didn’t want it. That tells me that’s a guy who knows his limitations.

I could be wrong and if he beats Plant that’ll be very impressive in my opinion.

If Canelo could crack his chin, Benavidez will do for sure - David also has a higher workrate and I believe he hits harder than Canelo

Plant wins 6-7 out of 10 rounds and gets stopped then somewhere between 11 and 12
