More and more people are picking caleb plant

i dont rate caleb plant after the canelo fiasco

 

I just cant see it, I dont think Plant is durable enough. I feel he will probably wins more than half of the rounds and then get stopped late.

 

Other than getting the Canelo fight, what had Plant really done? Dirrell? Big whoop, he’s never been great. Uzcatequi? Big whoop. Benavidez was lined up to fight him and people dismissed it. The other Caleb? Again, big whoop. I’m still trying to see whats so great about Plant other than getting a fight with Canelo.

 

I like Plant a lot. I think he's a very stylish character. I think he rubs 50% of the PBC fanbase up the wrong way and is beloved by 50% of the PBC fanbase

For me personally I think Plant carries 168 very well. He would be undersized @ 175 and far too big for 160. He's a legit career super middleweight. Benavidez is a blob, but a very dangerous blob

Still, Plant won't be a knockover job like fossil Lemoo was

If you put a gun to my head, maybe even Marcos Maidana's gun tattoo for that matter, I would have to pic David because my biggest ever betting loss was JermAll vs Dev-chenko and Charlo simply outsized him. Can see Benavidez being a bit more gunshy than usual though

I really like Plant as a fighter and an individual. I just don't think that he has what it takes to beat Benavidez.

 

Styles make fights though. Benavidez is relentless. Plant is a great fighter for 8 rounds then sort of fades. I think Benavidez pressure is more tiring than Canelos since he throws more punches and is willing to get hit more to return one than Canelo is. If this was a 6-8 round fight I’d pick Plant. 12 rounds it’s hard to pick as I can see it go either way.

 

Benavidez is too tall and too rangy, with quick hands that have dynamite in them. Plant is getting his butt whooped.
