More anticipated by the public? Leonard vs Hearns or Mayweather vs Pacquaio?

By 'the public', Leonard Hearns x 5, maybe even x 10. Stop a dude on the street here and Money/Pac have a sort of basic recognition, that's as far as it goes.

Boxing fans, I'd guess it's a lot closer. Perhaps even Mayweather Pacquiao is even more anticipated, simply because of the dearth of top-level match ups these days. In that one it's a (d) cos I was too young, by miles

I do not think you can realistically compare the two. Boxing's place in the sports world is nothing like it used to be. For example, in 1976 the Danny Lopez/David Kotey WBC featherweight title fight drew a live gate of over 100,000 fans. Nobody can draw like that today because the sporting world, and boxing's place in it, has changed a great deal.

When i watch documentaries about these legendary fights like Leonard/Hearns or Hagler/Hearns, etc, i love the fact that these guys took chances in these mega fights. They came to fight. You seldom see the best in the sport today lay it all on the line (Wlad, Hopkins, Mayweather, etc). Everyone is so cautious and calculatting. I guess that's why Pacman is so popular because he is the best and he does fight like he's still coming up in the ranks.
