has anyone noticed how the articles on sports network don't appear to get any comments on them now. i imagine they must have just received a torrent of abusive messages after the ppv deal was announced and just can't be bothered to pull out ones they are willing to post

usually when the bbc does a deal to show highlights it's a week after ... and they can't advertise they are doing it until the day before, as Sky or Setanta are still repeating it and getting their moneys worth. Also the pay for channels wouldn't want everyone to know in advance it's available for free as they'd be scared that no one will buy it live.

BBC recently picked up Hatton v Mayweather, Haye v Maccarinelli, and I think Calzaghe's last two fights. So big fights, which Amir's certainly isn't.

But it wouldn't surprise. If it was given to them for cheap the Beeb would take it to fool everyone they had an interest in boxing.

Also, i'm sure i heard that Amir's Reebok and other sponsorship deals were dependent on him being on terrestrial TV ... so there could be some truth.
