Nah, Sky have took one of the two packages of Setanta. The bidding took place this week. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7875478.stm
Buncey is talking about Setanta buying the right's to German Fights because there cheaper than American fights, Slightly Worrying!
****ing hell!! Less football is definitely bad. Whether your a fan or not, that's where the money is to be made. Big games = milllions of sponsorship money, it's as simple as that. Football is still the cash cow, losing a chunk of this is definitely bad news for setanta.
That's what I thought but apparently shithouse Murdoch has secured 5 packages! How is that right? Bending of the rules seems acceptible when there's money involved. I hate sky.
The problem is, that would mean the smaller clubs would get an even worse deal which would have a detrimental effect on the overall health of the game. The packages were open for bidding from anyone, ITV and the Beeb simply haven't the cash to pay for them. This whole packaging concept has done nothing good for the fans either. Rather than it all being all on one subscription channel, it's now on two. Not what this poorly thought through stipulation was supposed to achieve.
they should get rid of all that german and french football and the golf channel aswell lets be real who watches that **** ? lol
