Not every card is going to feature two rising Mexican stars fighting on Mexican Independence day.

Since when is competition bad? :patsch

So boring to feed ppl. with facts.

Canelo was supposed to face Williams in a Sept 15 PPV, but PDub suffered an accident, then Kirkland all of the sudden wanted out of the GBP contract, then Josesito upset Ortiz - with Lara planned to take on Vanes and Angulo barely released from detention, GBP did not have anyone else at hand, so they put upset kid in with Canelo, no PPV and a stacked undercard. And ratings show how good a job they did not only to save the card, but deliver an excellent one. If and when there's gonna be two huge main events competing for viewership, boxing will shine even more.

Oh and one more thing: having one card on HBO PPV and the other free on Shotime helped a great deal. There was awesome buzz all around and a lot more bought Chavez-Martinez then expected. Still, those not wanting or able to spend 50 bucks were offered an alternative, they just tuned in on Sho and saw excellent fights plus a new charismatic kid dominating the main event. At the end of the day, Saturday left ppl. wanting more, that that's boxing's success right there.

I don't give a **** about attracting more viewers to the sport. I'm only interested in them putting together more/better cards for my own personal entertainment.

    You should.

Believe it or not, the sports popularity effects the fighters, fights, and the sport in general. Fans that dont care about boxings popularity ultimately dont really care about the fighters or boxings health as a sport.

And I don't. I'm only interested in my own entertainment as far as boxing is concerned, and there will always be boxing matches whether they bring in all types of new fans or not. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that there would be more/better cards and more shown for free if there weren't so many idiot boxing fans willing to pay $50-60 to watch **** ass cards. I know for a fact the best of the best would be more inclined to fight each other if they couldn't make millions fighting no-hopers. The **** should I care if some ******* who I don't even know personally gets paid a lot less or if most people don't follow the sport? I don't watch boxing because other mother****ers like to. I watch because I like to.

Is that why we have all these watered down ass cards selling for $50-60?
