Can't fault a guy for taking a knee when he he's getting beaten up in that brutal manner. The hand wrap controversy surrounding Margarito's career puts a huge question mark around that win and makes me wonder what would've happened on an even playing field (would probably look closer to their rematch than the first fight IMO.)

What Canelo did was just silly. Personally, I don't believe he's scared of fighting anyone in and around his division, but I don't think his promoter feels the same way. It's conceivable that Oscar just wants to milk his cashcow for as long as possible before he's essentially forced to face GGG. He should've vacated that title right after his CW fight with Cotto rather than continuing this CW trend at MW.

 

canelo is 26 and has been in the ring with a handful of pretty good fighters....take a look at spence and charlo....both 26 and spence is about to take his first step up and charlo has a couple of decent wins but not against any proven, solid, competition

canelo isnt avoiding anything...hes simply taking his time on making a move upward....the guy started at 147....he hasnt had one fight at the full 160 limit or above yet...his next fight will be his first...let him test himself before he takes on a guy that some people swear is some ATG beast.....golovkin fans always cried "you want golovkin to go right up to 168 and face ward without being able to test 168 first? thats crazy and an insane demand"......but yall want canelo to jump into a fight with a p4p career mw?

Yes i did want Canelo to just jump in with a P4P career middleweight. Because Canelo held the WBC Middleweight belt. A statement that says "i am the man at 160". I wouldnt of minded if he had just dropped the belt at the start instead of trying to haggle over weights and money and trying to make it look like they wanted the fight before throwing the belt to avoid the fight. Now he has dropped the belt i personally couldnt give a **** if this fight happened. Its a big money fight but there are better fights to be made for either one of them in different directions.

 

newsflash....he won the belt at a CW and defended it at a CW....in "money" fights......so why wouldnt it seem unfair and odd for him to ask to defend it at a CW again in a good money fight?

You call Golovkin a career Middleweight, so he does all his fighting at 160 and any career middleweight aspires to claim the belts at 160 pounds. So Canelo jumps up, for a money fight, takes the belt on a catchweight against another none Middleweight and now all career Middleweights have to now bend to the demands of somebody who isnt a middleweight but owns a middleweight belt?

I think thats a little unfair to all career middleweights because somebody who isnt one is looking to make some easy money?

What you are really mad at Ukansodoff...is that a 26 year old fighter hasnt given into gggs wishful timeline...and your wishful timeline for ggg.....golovkin desperately needs a big win/name to legitimize his career at age 35.....and a 26 year old kid who has already accomplished quite a bit wont give into it.....thats what really drives you crazy......canelo, 26 years of age, will fight ggg when hes comfortable and feels ready.....not when you wish/hope he would....canelo isnt desperate...his brand is already solidified.....

 

Just to add on to what Shockmaster said, remember that Canelo didn't attempt to drain Middleweights. He didn't make all career Middleweights "have to bend to the demands of somebody that isn't a middleweight but owns a middleweight belt". He could have done that like Cotto did, but he didn't do that. In principle I agree with you Ukansodoff, that it would be wrong for bigger Middleweights to have to bend to the demands of somebody that isn’t a Middleweight. Ironically this week, Golovkin suggested he would be able to make 154 for Floyd, as it’s his dream fight, so some Middleweights clearly would be fine with “having to bend to the demands of somebody that isn’t a middleweight”. Geale bended to the demands of Cotto, which we can criticize, but lets not confuse what Cotto did with what Canelo did.

Canelo fought Khan at 155 who wanted to move up for a big fight. It made sense, as 160 would have been too big of a jump for Khan. Him dropping the belt after that made sense, though I do think he was seriously considering fighting Golovkin (at 160), but he didn’t like being dictated to so he vacated it and won a title at 154. (which he couldn’t have done while holding that title)

 

Canelo had since DECEMBER to make GGG fight, he was well aware of all deadlines.

these guys are just really upset the fight isnt next or hasnt taken place.....they are legit worried that with each passing month the chances of canelo winning might increase....if canelo were 30-31 or whatever...id demand this fight...id bash canelo for it......these guys cant accept that ggg is a victim of circumstance here.....

 

How had I missed fmj relinquishing ANY belt to marg, that's something I'd lose lots of my respect for him.. tell me which year and which belt , this is something so large it will change some of my feelings towards fmj
