    Well?

    • Arguments for GGG having the harder assignment: Murata is a fellow amateur superstar turned pro annihilator, whom most fans still consider undefeated despite the official record. Murata is a come-forward skilled pressure fighter and will potentially ask questions of Golovkin's ability to fight moving backwards, which has been called into question lately. Even the massive underdog Martirosyan won the first round on many fans' cards by fearlessly bringing the fight to Golovkin (although his approach bit him in the ass very soon thereafter). Murata is younger by only four years but appears to still be in full blossoming flower of his prime, unlike Golovkin.

    • Arguments for Canelo having the harder assignment: he'll be coming off an entire year on the shelf, as opposed to GGG having the V-Mart tuneup. He also had surgery to remove a cyst in his knee. He also had a long and humiliating outside-the-ring distraction with Clenbuterol-gate; regardless of his guilt or innocence this ordeal was probably a taxing stressor in his life. He also has been visibly hurt in the ring more times in his career than GGG has, and is getting in with more of a pure hitter. Murata is a great deal better than Spike, but might not punch as hard shot for shot. You have to believe Spike's punchers' chance vs. Álvarez > Murata's vs. Golovkin.

Canelo is coming off a one year lay off, knee surgery, and barely his 2nd fight at MW. I think a nice little tune up like O'Sullivan is good to shake off the rust.

GGG needs to stop bullying welterweights ad Super Welterweights and better start fighting real opposition, otherwise his already shallow legacy will continue to take a hit. 2 decent fighters in an 8 year reign is pathetic.

I think I was pretty fair & balanced with the bullet points in the OP, but still, end of the day there's but one conclusion to reach.

Unpopular opinion but I think Spike knocks out Murata. But I think Spike plays into Canelos style. Styles make fights and that

So which is poor little Murata - would you say he's more of a bullied welter or more of a bullied super welter?

You know what, I can actually see it. Wouldn't bet a red cent on it, but it wouldn't be the most shocking thing in the world either. And I don't think Spike is a world-beater, nor do I think Murata is a fraud. Styles make fights, indeed.

Murata is by far the better opponent.

A very minor knee surgery and a one-year layoff don't bridge the gap between a clear top 10 MW like Murata and a glorified fringe contender like Spike (and yes, I said exactly the same sentiment about Spike when he was likely to face GGG next).

Watch me, Spike is coming off of dominating a glass jawed Welterweight, and his career best win in stopping a blown up previously stopped glass jawed Junior Middleweight in Antoine Douglas, Spike has already lost by ridiculously one sided schooling at the hands of Saunders v 1.0, not even the one with amazing stamina that beat Lemieux, and Spike managed to land maybe 3 clean shots on Chris Eubank Jr. who couldn't box his way out of a paper bag.

Murata is a brilliant fighter who has been highly touted for years by myself and IB, and who happens to be a Gold Medalist, and by all rights is an undefeated fighter, he in my eyes holds not one but 2 wins over N'Dam, the first time around, he comprehensively outboxed N'Dam in dominant fashion far more impressively than either Quillin or Lemiuex even adding in their countless KD's, their second match he made Hassan who has no quit in him, quit. Murata is not a Light Middleweight, he's a full fledged middle, could probably make Super Middle. Maybe Canelo should drag up Breidis Prescott or K9 Bundrage, another one of those glass jawed Welters and Super Welters he loves to feast on, he needs all the warm ups he can get, especially when he doesn't have his Clen to fall back on.

I had a cyst removed from my knee, it took about 4 days to get over it and I felt fine. Gimme a ****ing break.
