Too big, too durable, bring on Michele Di Rocco. I would have said Emiliano Marsili, but he's too tough.

Point is Murata is technically a champion right now and Derevyanchenko isn't, and Murata's résumé is a lot better...not to mention you'd be hard-pressed to find anybody that considers Derevyanchenko more dangerous or less of a prospective underdog h2h. You can hardly accuse Golovkin of "ducking his mandatory" if he takes on Murata next.

Ah, I almost forgot... Aleesandro Goddi, he just got violently KO'd in 2 by Szeremeta who now has a whopping 3 KO's in 17 wins. And he's a Middleweight, perfect warm up!!!!

Yeah, unlike Canelo at least Paulie went life & death with a PRIME version of Cotto. :deal:

And with a broken jaw, but doing something like that would be too much to ask of Big Red, because... y'know, muh cyst! muh cyst!

    :risas3:

Paulie lost his sidepiece to Broner and said "whatever, don't brag about it" after getting in the ring and giving him absolute hell in settling their beef like men (although I did score it 116-112 Broner, so no robbery like Paulie as usual claimed) - as opposed to Canelo who got super-salty and fought little ass old Archie Solis over a girl and had to sucker-punch him in street clothes like a *****.

No , actually i think you can. He hasn't fought an IBF mando in over two years , will have to pay Murata a higher split since technically he's not a mandatory and has been told he must fight him next or he'll be stripped.
I dont believe the 'unification trumps mandatory' rule applies when its against a regular champion.

    What were you expecting?

Murata is the much better fight, but he is also too dangerous for GGG to entertain before the Clenelo rematch!

No point In wanking over GGG taking the tougher fight when he will either fight nobody or an utter scrub if Canelo gets Spike.

For the Cinnamon Brigade to suit up and become the Spinnamon Brigade, like @CST80 predicted, harping on all the factors working against Canelo to make a Spike win seem more creditable despite the obvious fact of Murata being superior, and to preemptively make excuses should there be a hail-Mary connected by Spike.

We have our first vote for Spike! (now 23-1 Murata)

SHADAPBLAD care to give your reasoning?

Spike and Murata are perfect styles to make GGG and Canelo look great. @IntentionalButt and @CST80 both of you guys have watched a lot of Murata. In your honest opinion, do you think he would make it 12 against GGG? I don't really see him move his head or use a lot of footwork to evade shots. I just don't see a fighter going 12 against GGG that doesn't have extremely good headmovement like Canelo/Jacobs and great footwork. Murata has a very good guard but that's not enough. Also his chin has not been tested. He barely got hit against N'dam and hasn't fought a heavy hitter. But Murata is definitely the far more credible opponent. N'dam would have boxed Spike's head off.

Hell no. Which is why the sheer level of bull**** in James post about him ducking Murata so annoying. That being said, I think Murata would be a really tough fight for Canelo.

Gun to my head, I'd pick both Spike and Murata to be stopped (on towel from the corner/referee's mercy) in September.

I also, like I said earlier, give Spike a better puncher's chance to score an upset KO vs. Canelo than I give Murata to score one vs. Golovkin - but even so, Golovkin should and IMO will (from objective boxing fans) get loads more credit for beating the better overall fighter.
