I missed Burns too, I've had a couple of beers.... slot him in somewhere between 6 and 8, move everyone else down a place.

 

Haye to me would be in that band of fighters you named that could be in the lower half. I don't find it unreasonable to have him in the mix, maybe just outside a 10. Clearly if he wins this fight its going to catapult him something big, he'd be very highly regarded for beating a 250lb established champion as a former cruiserweight. Thats p4p right there. Shame he won't be around long enough to enjoy it, apparently

 

Good post. I'm so happy with 168 right now, as fans we've got it great.

On a side note, Ward is absolute class and I do think he is the best man in the division, as you say, when they fight, super fight! You never know with Froch though, as you say, his will, I really rate his will to win.

 

Personally I'd have Haye top 20 anyway - come on he did destroy an Olympic and European champion!

I'm not saying Ward wouldn't have beaten Kessler in Denmark but it's naive to think that it would have been exactly as one sided as it was in California. Plus the fact is that Kessler was cut to pieces during and after the fight.. all down to head clashes.

I like Ward. I think he's a special fighter and will win the super six but travelling thousands of miles can clearly make a difference.

 

No I don't think it made any difference whatsoever in the fight. They go out weeks before, travelling 6000 miles makes no difference you're just saying that to make it sound dramatic. He didn't travel overnight and then rock up at the arena, it's meticulously planned.

It would have been exactly as one sided as it was, maybe more so. At home Kessler would have been under even more pressure than Ward was already putting him under to be the aggressor. He'd have probably made even more mistakes that Ward was always taking advantage of. You're not taking into account how badly Ward took all his tools away in that fight, all these other factors mean nothing once that happens. You've got to be able to impose something on the fight and Kessler could not, his jab was landing way way short, so he couldn't measure his right hand. From there on it was just desperation and all his mistakes were being exploited, inside he was getting messed up as well. He had no success.

 

I think home advantage is pretty overrated.

Unless you are going to a bear pit or somewhere impossible to get a decision I'm certain that quality shines through in the end.

America is probably the fairest place to go for judging too. We are on a par with Germany and nearly Italy at the minute.

It's frustrating and upsetting as a boxing fan that we keep seeing these disgraceful decisions. We need to get our own house in order.

 

Andre Ward is treating his opponents like sparring partners. Sometimes Carl Froch struggles, and is battered about the ring.

But who cares about the pound for pound top 10, nobody.....nobody cares. Its pointless, its ****ing pathetic, and nobody cares.

Its just opinion, its a mythical lists.
