Anybody here think that that Pac KO punch looked a bit like a prime RJJ move? I did. Especially in slow-mo.
Hearns. cuz there is a bigger difference between his and pacs power and an even bigger difference between durans and hatton's chin
Pacquiao-Hatton was more "devastating" in the sense that you'd worry more about the well-being of Hatton. With the help of his handlers, Duran was on his feet within 10 or 15 seconds, said something to one of his cornerman while dazed and confused, and then went to his stool. For a longer amount of time, Hatton was on the floor, barely moving (I don't like what those people were doing by trying to move him and hold his head in their hands).
Duran was still semi-concious and Hatton was sleeping like a baby but Duran's chin was cast iron, he went down face first, and would not have beaten the 10 count. The Hearns KO for me.
Duran has trained for that fight for only two weeks, he took it because he needed the money. Duran went 15 rounds with Hagler and beat Barkey. Hearns was knocked out by both. Pac's knockout of Hatton did much more damage.
Doesn't matter whose chin was better IMO. As far as the "devastating" effect of the KO punch, it was Pac/Hatton in my book - no question. Hatton was OUT. Done. I thought he was close to death. My excitement turned to concern as I watched him completely out for so long, and not responding at all. Of course, Hearn's punch was more powerful, and the sight of Duran going down like that was very surprising considering that he was such a tough warrior, but he was up and responsive in relatively little time. He simply wasn't physically devastated like Hatton was.
